To help you assess whether your proposed use of copyrighted material is a fair use, complete and print out the form below. Keep this record for at least three years in the event you are questioned about your decision. This form is based on a checklist originally created by Kenneth Crews and Dwayne Buttler, two contemporary copyright leaders in higher education. The form provided here was modified for the George Mason University community.
